Principal Message

Evergreen Principal Diana Dix

As principal of Evergreen Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year of school. We are all excited to welcome students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with excitement and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to remain committed, without excuses and exceptions, to the academic and social success of each student. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities and to be college-focused by the end of the year. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to be educated in a way that prepares them for college.

At Evergreen, we have great teachers who spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to engage our students in learning. Our teachers use research-based best practices and analyze academic data to determine current skill levels and to set goals for growth and improvement. They meet regularly to collaborate, share experiences and expertise and sharpen their teaching skills through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). All of that work happens with one goal in mind: increasing student success.

We hope that you find our website helpful and informative. On the “Home” tab, you will find the current school supply list and registration and enrollment information. The school and community news can be found under the “News” tab. We have also entered dates for events and activities into the “Calendar” feature of our website. Additionally, we have a Peachjar account (found under the “Parents” tab) where we upload flyers with school and community information.

I am honored to serve as the principal of Evergreen Elementary School. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where families, teachers and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth.

Once again, welcome back! Let’s make it another great year of successful learning and growth!

We look forward to meeting students and families during our Meet and Greet on August 27th from 4-6 PM.

Reminder school starts on August 28th for our 1st - 5th graders and Kindergarten begins September 3rd.

Reminder breakfast starts at 7:15 - and first bell at 7:35! For students who have breakfast at home -- arrival time is 7:30 at the covered playground area. We end the day at 2:15. I am proud of the students who are remembering their zPass as it allows them to get through the line quicker for breakfast and lunch!

Reminder that after 7:45 all students and visitors will need to enter and exit the building through the main entrance – we are a secured campus.  Thank you for your support of our campus security.

Our parent pickup is off 6th Avenue -- it is also the location where students will park bikes and walkers will exit campus.  Please be extra careful coming onto 6th Avenue with this new student foot traffic.

Parent Pick-up: this year we will have our "valet" parent pick-up which means please pick up a number tag for your car.  When you register you will get information about what that process looks like. Remember that we don't want to cause back up on Blaine so emergency and passing vehicles can continue to use the road. So if you are at school prior to 2:10 - you will need to park. Also remembering CHILDREN and families are walking to cars and walking home - please follow the rules of the road.
