Principal Message

Evergreen Principal Diana Dix

As we move into the last few weeks of school – we will be celebrating the learning students have achieved this year both academically and socially.  We will be kicking off our first Boot camp experience for students June 8-10th and know they will enjoy the time and give us lots of ideas as we plan for next year. It is also the time of year when we say farewell to so many families and staff members as they move on to the next location of their journey.  Thank you for supporting kids!  We appreciate all you do and will do as you transition. Thank you, families for supporting our “yellow line” during arrival and dismissal.  Thank you – we are in this together and together is where we find our strength.  We are Timberwolves – resilient and work together to make the family proud.

Kicking off June, students will be learning about acceptance – how do we treat each other in a way that shows we care and trust that they will also treat us the same way in return? As a member of the team it is about everyone picking up the rope and taking that first step to support everyone else – sometimes meaning helping others and sometimes meaning others helping me.  We are excited as we journey into the last trimester of the year and know there are lots of learning and experiences yet to happen. We are so excited to have you on this journey with us!

Some questions you may have:

Someone in the household is being COVID tested – should I send my child(ren) to school?  The safest answer is no – when someone is being tested in the house – the household should quarantine to ensure that everyone is healthy enough to be around others.

How do I enroll my student – it is all online enrollment at this time.  If you have new neighbors who have moved in – remind them to enrollment is online.  Families with children who will be 5 by August 31st – registration is open online for your soon to be kindergartener to register. Be well – take care of each other.

What will school look like?  Wearing of a mask is optional for staff and students.  At this time, we are not having family members come into the building so we will use the check-in process at the yellow line. Our start time for arrival is 8:15 for line up, breakfast and then learning begins at 8:30, and the end of the day is 3:00 PM. Please make sure Skyward has a correct phone/email address and you have your voice box set up with the number so if you miss the call you still are able to get the information.

What if we are moving?  Call Mrs. Brost at 253-583-5250 and let her know when your students last day learning will occur and we will unenroll – remember to bring back all checked out items including technology.  The school you will be enrolling in can email/fax request for records as all documents can be done digitally for the student/family.
